James Service – Chairman
James Service is the Managing Director of J G Service Pty Ltd and has been a member of the Koomarri Board of Directors since February 2005. James is also Chairman of the ACT Building and Construction Industry Training Fund Authority, a member of the ACT Division of the Property Council of Australia, a Director of Canberra CBD Limited, President of the Canberra Cancerians Committee and a past Chairman of Canberra Tourism & Events Corporation (now Australian Capital Tourism).

Len Early – Vice Chairman & Treasurer
Len Early is Principal of Len Early Pty Ltd, a micro-business providing advice on public sector policy and management, with a particular focus on public sector governance, public sector reform, financial and Budget reform, public sector superannuation and policy evaluation.
His current Board positions include: Chair, Australia Post Superannuation Trust (and Audit and Investment Committees); Independent Chair, Australian Pest and Veterinary Medicines Authority, Office of the Renewal Energy Regulator and the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research Audit Committees; Independent member, Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy, Foreign Affairs and Trade and AusAID Audit Committees; and Member, ACT Public Trustee Investment Board.

John Mackay AM FAIM (board director)
John Mackay is the Chairman of ACTEW Corporation, ActewAGL and TransACT Pty Ltd, which provide electricity, gas, water, sewerage, fibre cable, telephony, and television services across Canberra and the Capital Region. ActewAGL is one of Canberra's largest companies - with a staff of 1500 and turnover of $800 million.
Prior to 1998 John was a senior executive with the Commonwealth Government. His positions included:
- Deputy Secretary with the Department of Finance and Administration - where he was responsible for ten business units employing some 3000 staff;
- Director of the Australian Protective Service - a security agency with 1000 staff;
- General Manager, Overseas Property Group - responsible for some two billion dollars worth of property in 70 countries; and
- Senior Private Secretary - to the Minister for Administrative Services.
He is a Director on the Boards of Little Company of Mary Healthcare, the Canberra Raiders, and Australian Institute of Management (ACT), Chair of Canberra Glassworks and The Canberra International Arboretum and Gardens; and a Member of the Salvation Army Advisory Board.
He was awarded the Order of Australia in 2004 and was named "Canberra Citizen of the Year" in 2008.

Tony Howkins
Tony Howkins has been a member of the Koomarri Board of Directors since 1998. Tony's background is in Medical Sciences and for many years worked in various scientific institutions in the Canberra region including John Curtin School of Medical Research, National Standards Laboratories, Dept of Zoology and the Faculty of Applied Science at the University of Canberra. Tony is an active member of the Probus Club of Deakin. As a father of two boys with a disability he provides expertise to Koomarri on best practice.

Max Smith
Max Smith joined the Koomarri Board of Directors in October 2001. As a father of a daughter with a disability Max brings a wealth of knowledge regarding the issues faced by people with a disability and their families. A past Treasurer & Director of Kurrajong Waratah, an organisation that provides support, training and opportunities to people with an intellectual disability or development delay and their families and carers. Max holds a Bachelor of Engineering.

Stephen Byron
Stephen Byron has been Managing Director of Canberra International Airport since its privatisation in May 1998. Stephen is a member of the boards of Australian Airports Association, the Property Council of Australia (ACT), The Snow Foundation and The Salvation Army Canberra Advisory Board. Stephen joined the Koomarri board in March 2005.

Michael Brennan
Michael is a partner in the Canberra office of national law firm Minter Ellison. He practices in the areas of commercial contracting, corporate law and mergers and acquisitions. Michael was appointed to the Koomarri Board in August 2008.

Margaret Reid
Margaret is a Partner in the private legal firm of Phelps Reid Lawyers. She has been practising in private practice for over 30 years. Her area of practice is in Family Law and Collaborative Law. She has been a Member of the Council of the Australian Capital Territory Law Society and the Disciplinary Tribunal of the Law Society. She was until May 2008 a Member of the Board of the Australian Institute of Management. Margaret was appointed to the Koomarri board in September 2008.

Lois Fordham
Lois Fordham is Executive Director of a strategic consulting company, Align Corp Pty Ltd. Prior to that, she was Chief Executive Officer for MacDonnells Law, responsible for the merger of four law firms to become one of Queensland’s largest law firms.
Lois has very broad experience in the areas of corporate governance, internal audit and risk management. She was responsible for internal and external audit at the Australian Sports Commission, and was the executive responsible for the ASC Board’s Audit Committee and the Australian Sports Foundation Audit Committee. Lois has considerable board experience having chaired and headed up various committees for a number of boards. She has a sound financial background having served as CFO for the Australian Sports Commission and Company Secretary for three incorporated bodies.
