Accessibility

The Koomarri web site has been presented following Australian Government online publishing standards to enable all users of the internet equal access to the information contained within the web site.

Standards followed in the development of this site are based from the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines Version 1.0 (WCAG 1.0), a set of guidelines developed by the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) to enable equal access to all users of the internet.

Known problems

Netscape Version 4x

Misinterprets the CSS values programmed to enable the individual page scrolling available when the page content exceeds the standard page size. To combat this, this browser version displays the entire page adjusting the depth to suit the page requirements, disabling the advanced scrolling possibilities of an advanced CSS capable browser.

Netscape Version 7x

Currently displaying occasional image display behaviour problem, deleting (for display) sections of images within the graphical navigation elements of the pages. This problem does not present an access problem, all associated links (and rollover effects) remain active, the appearance is the only medium affected. This problem has been presented to Netscape for analysis and remedy. To confirm, this is not a coding problem, the problem exists only within the Netscape 7 user agent (browser).

Tab access

Currently the navigation elements on the pages are set-up to enable 'tab' access site wide, this enables users to navigate the site without the use of a mouse. Tab access to the scrolling feature enabled by the cascading style sheet element within the page may not be accessible by the tab function, this is due to current technology limitations. Please let us know if accessing the information on the pages is hindered due to this limitation.

Other problems

Please report any page access problems or any other page or site comments to web@koomarri.asn.au. All information and opinions regarding the web site are treated with priority and anonymity (unless credit is requested).
